862-5000, DOUBLE CUT, 1/4 SHANK, 6" LENGTH
1/2" Major Diameter, 6" OAL, 1" Flute Length (Appro.), 1/4" Shank Diameter, DOUBLE CUT STYLE, Cylindrical Ball Nose. Carbide Burrs are designed for precision grinding and profiling. Our standard cut burrs are for general purpose applications where fair stock removal & smooth finish are required. The double cut type are specifically designed for tough applications and where maximum metal removal is required. Carbide burrs should typically be run at1,500 to 3,000 SFM. For burrs from 3/16 to 3/8 a 30,000 RPM grinder would be recommended. A 22,000 RPM grinder for burrs from 1/4" to 1/2". For larger burrs from 5/8" to 3/4 run around 15,000 RPM and 1" around 10,000 RPM. Slower speeds on all these burrs will work, but you will not get maximum performance from the tools. To minimize wear, the tool should periodically be dipped in cutting fluid or a lubricant.
